How should I take care of my new tattoo?

If TegaDerm bandage: Remove bandage on third day by peeling off under running water. Bandage is water resistant, but not waterproof – do not soak.
If standard bandage: Remove after 2 hours. Wash hands, then wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap using your fingertips. DO NOT use a washcloth or scrubber! Rinse thoroughly. Pat dry with a clean towel. Allow your tattoo to air-dry another 20–30 minutes if it appears moist or oozing. With clean hands, apply a small amount of unscented lotion after washing. Repeat 3–5 times daily. DO NOT pick, scratch, or peel any loose skin or scabs. They will come off when ready while washing or applying moisturizer. DO NOT soak your tattoo in pools, the ocean, baths, hot tub, etc. Short showers only until completely healed (approximately 2 weeks) NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT until completely healed. Once healed, apply sunscreen (SPF 45 or higher) if you cannot avoid sun exposure to keep your tattoo looking new BE AWARE that during the first few days of healing, your tattoo may seep ink, blood, or lymph, which may stain sheets or clothing. Feel free to stop by with any questions or concerns.
